Come and see the cars your parents took for a spin. Maybe even your grandparents. No seatbelts in these models! Lots of history. Cost is $7 and cash will be accepted.
Tuesday April 7th, at 7:00 p.m. - Trivia Tournament
At the Brooklin Pub. Cost is $4. and the Pub asks that if you wish to have dinner there before the tournament please tell the person at the door so you can be served upstairs where we play.
Friday Oct. 23 - Honky Tonk Angels Dinner Theatre
At the Best Western Theatre in Cobourg. This is a foot-stompin’ musical about three women from diverse backgrounds who follow their dreams and meet on a Greyhound bus bound for Nashville, where they form a country girl group — Tammy Wynette’s “Stand by Your Man,” Loretta Lynn’s “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” are just some of the hits threaded into this story. Complete with country band this show is going to take the Best Western by storm! Dinner is 6pm and Show is 8pm

Thursday, October 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Billy Elliott show in Stratford
Traveled by bus from Whitby (Iroquois Park) to Stratford and back. Saw the 2:00 p.m. Billy Elliott play which has won the Tony award for Best Musical with music by Elton John. Story is about a motherless British boy who trades boxing gloves for ballet shoes.
Thursday September 12th from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. - Prince Edward County Wine tour
Traveled by bus from Whitby (Iroquois Park) to four wineries in Prince Edward County for tastings. Enjoyed a lunch at Huff Estates Winery. On the bus ride back, shopped at the Big Apple stop for goodies brought home to eat along with the wine you bought.
Wednesday, August 14th at 10:00 a.m. - Dare2Dream Farm
In Kendal, got a tour of this agritourism farm. A history of the farm, a visit to the beehives, and enjoyed a boxed lunch from Krumbs Breadery. Explored the gift shop which had unusual items such as alpaca products.
Wednesday, July 17th at 2 p.m. - Westben Theatre, Campbellford.
“Abba Mia” concert with five singers and a band. Enjoyed songs from “Mamma Mia” show as well as other ABBA hits.
Tuesday, June 18th from 11:30 am - Lake Couchiching cruise from Orillia.
Sailed around the lake on the Island Princess and listened to Captain Jack tell funny stories about the area. Enjoyed a lovely lunch of slow roasted chicken on bed of seasoned rice, salad buffet bar included a finger dessert, as well as tea/coffee and soft drinks.
Thursday, May 23rd - Aga Khan Museum
77 Wynford Drive, Toronto. This is a beautiful museum of Islamic art, Iranian art and Muslim culture, built in a contemporary architectural style. Two tours – Art Gallery and Architecture- were given. Excellent restaurant on site served Middle Eastern food.
Saturday April 27th at 2:00 p.m. “Music Man”
At VOS theatre in Victoria Hall, Cobourg. 55 King St. W., $27.33 includes tax. 40 seats reserved. There’s trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian. This musical comedy is winner of six Tony awards.

At lOFT Longo’s, 1 Rossland Road East (near Harwood), Ajax. Watch a chef make four delicious recipes while providing cooking tips and then you get to devour samples of all four! Menu is: apple and caramelized onion tart, mini chicken pot pies, mini banana bread with salted caramel glaze, buttermilk scones with homemade lemon curd. View the fall colours on a return train trip from Stouffville to Uxbridge with a short stop in Uxbridge. Train left Stouffville station at noon and returned at 3:45 pm.

Fun Run was held on October 2nd. Started and ended at Lakeridge Golf Course.
Wednesday September 26 - PROBUS clubs of Durham BBQ
The PROBUS clubs in the Durham region hosted a BBQ at the Jubilee Pavilion with room for 400 PROBUS members. There was entertainment, prizes and lots of fun as clubs got the opportunity to mingle.

Wednesday June 20 - Bus Trip to Kingston Penitentiary
Bus left Iroquois Park at 9 am and returned to Whitby at 7 pm. Lunch was at the Mandarin Restaurant in Kingston and a 90 minute tour of the penitentiary followed.

Met at The Lion & Unicorn Pub, 965 Dundas St. W. for a rousing euchre tournament. There were snacks provided half way through the night. Prizes and lots of laughter. Cash Bar.
Friday, October 27th - LEASKDALE-PLAY, LUNCH & TOUR
Visited the Lucy Maud Montgomery manse and historical church in Leaskdale (north of Uxbridge). Lunch at 12:30. A guided tour of the manse and church, and then at 3PM, there was a two hour musical play "Emily" based on Lucy Maud Montgomery's books.
Tuesday, Oct. 3rd - 4TH ANNUAL FUN RUN
4th Annual Fun Run started and ended at Lakeridge Links Golf Course. with a light lunch. Over 100 participated, enjoying the fine weather, and interesting clues for all to find the answers.

We had a tour of the Algoma Orchards processing plant in Clarington. This was a free tour. We booked this time so that anyone who wished to go there first for lunch will have time before the tour.

Day trip to Ottawa included a Deluxe Motorcoach, Lunch at Tucker's Marketplace in the Byward Market, a short guided tour of Ottawa and free time at Dow's Lake.

A delightful evening of dinner, followed by a Talent Show featuring singing, music, comedy and other bizarre forms of entertainment by some of your fellow PROBUS members. Location was Lakeridge Golf and Country Club, 1355 Brawley Rd, Brooklin.

Celebrate the Chinese New Year by enjoying the Mandarin Buffet for lunch. We met at the Oshawa Mandarin Restaurant, 1319 Airport Blvd., just east of Taunton & Thornton.

This year, our September event was a dinner and corn roast at the Shriners Club of Oshawa. Musical entertainment, provided, country style and mix, before and after dinner.
- Peterborough Dinner Cruise & Musicfest - Wednesday, August 17th, 2016
Two hour dinner cruise, around Little Lake in Peterborough. The boat returned to the pier which is across the street from the Peterborough Music Fest. The Music Fest afterwards was free.The show that night was Hotel California, a tribute to the Eagles.a

The musical called KISSES ON BROADWAY included songs from Kiss Me Kate, West Side Story, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Oliver and The King and I. As well, dinner was available afterwards at a nearby church.

Once again we had some fun driving around the Durham Region trying to find the answers to lots of stimulating clues! We started in Oshawa at Grandview and Bloor. Registration was divided in two, going out at 9 and 9:30 a.m.
The course ended at The Lakeridge Golf Club where we enjoyed a lovely buffet lunch at 1 o’clock

For those who haven’t attended before, it is an evening of Trivial Pursuit played with teams of 4 people. Finger food snacks will be erved before the game commences (all this for $10.00) and there is a cash bar. Prizes will be awarded to the winning and runner up teams.

"Whitby -Brooklin Probus Club annual Spring Fun Run (Car Rally)
- A repeat of last year’s tremendously popular Fun Run, with new clues cunningly
You will drive about 65 km on scenic, quiet, country roads North of Whitby. There are clues to find and solve and scavenger hunt items to be collected.
- A car, its driver and passengers will comprise a team. Friends and family are welcome.
- Each team will receive printed instructions, route, distances, locations of clues and a sheet for your answer
Afterwards, you should hand in your papers and they will be MARKED BY TEACHERS!! Then there will be a BBQ and the answers will be revealed, followed by a prize giving, and complaining, whatever....
When - Tues may 20th -
- Start: 9:30 am. (Rain date 27th) Finish: 3-4 hrs later.
- Cars will be sent off at 3 - 4 min intervals.
Fees are $5 per car and $10.00 per person, for the BBQ (includes Burger/sausage/chicken + 2 salads .Tax and gratuities included. Cash bar). At this time we are limited to 50 people for the BBQ, but given enough warning, it may be possible to increase this somewhat.
